Performing Arts

With Mrs Wilson

We have had a fabulous start to our year in performing arts with the children quickly adjusting to the space and expectations.

This term we are focusing on DANCE!  Dancing is an amazing skill as it assists children to self-regulate, which helps to develop spatial awareness, essential for moving safely in their environment. Experimenting with a broad range of movements can also help to improve balance and build core strength, which supports concentration and learning skills. It has been very entertaining seeing the different dance moves that the children perform each week. If your children are all of a sudden singing Abba songs, sorry, it was me!

As well as dance, the children have been learning how to play different drama games. These games are designed to promote turn taking, speaking and listening skills and confidence building, but more importantly, the children see it as having fun!

It is my absolute privilege to see your children grow in confidence, build relationships and express themselves through these classes.
