HOUSE SWIMMING CARNIVAL & INTERSCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

House Swimming Carnival

On Thursday, February 20th, on a beautiful cool day, with great House spirit shown by many students, the annual Red Cliffs Secondary College House Swimming Carnival was held at the Red Cliffs Pool. 

 

The three novelty events; Tug of War, Ping Pong Scramble and The Biggest Bomb, proved to be very popular. Out of the traditional strokes of freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke, freestyle had by far the most number of competitors. Terragong students and staff were delighted to be the overall winners!  Results for each House were as follows:

I would like to express a huge thank you to the Red Cliffs Swimming Club and to the staff at Red Cliffs Secondary College for their hard work in making the day run very smoothly indeed.

Interschool Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday, 4th March, twenty-five students from Red Cliffs SC participated in the Interschool Swimming Carnival, held at the Mildura Waves complex 50m pool. All swimmers gave of their best throughout the day.  

 

Some highlights of the day were:

  • Poppy Thannhauser swimming in all four events for the 13 year old girls age group.  A terrific effort Poppy!
  • Joe Taylor coming third in backstroke for the 14 year old boys age group.
  • Riley Germane coming third in freestyle the 17 year old boys age group.
  • Logan Mansell coming third in both breaststroke and backstroke in the 17 year old boys age group.
  • Bailey Minter coming third in freestyle in the 17 year old boys age group.
  • The thirteen year old boys freestyle relay team (Taylor Burns, Cooper Bowen, Nate Gathercole and Dylan Taylor) coming third.
  • The fourteen year old girls freestyle relay team (Kylah Maher, Alyssa Smith, Evie O’Brien and Lilly Maddigan) coming third.

The students are to be congratulated on their very good behavior.

 

 I would like to give a big thank you to Miss White and Mr. Willersdorf for helping me with supervision and for Callum Matthews and Ziggy Fine for volunteering to help out at the Carnival.
