Education in Faith

A Term spent well

We are reaching the end of a term that has been busy, but so rewarding! Our students continue to impress us each day with their beautiful nature and attitude to learning.

St Patricks Day Mass

Last Friday a group of Year Six students travelled into St Patrick's Cathedral on behalf of our school to attend Mass. They were not the only ones however....with over 200 schools present! In a cathedral packed to the brim full of students and school staff our Year Sixes represented us with distinction! They listened and took part in Mass and it was so wonderful to see our school banner be a part of the parade.

Students were able to meet and very briefly chat with Archbishop Peter Comensoli who was also very complimentary of their manners and listening. On a beautiful sunny day this trip to the city was a real highlight, and we are very proud of our Year Six leaders.

Events to Close our Term

As this newsletter is published we will still have a few events to close our term!

Caritas

At the moment funds are being raised for Caritas and Project Compassion 2024. This is a fantastic cause and always a highlight of each of our school years. Students have been learning about some of the causes that Caritas is assisting with, and further information about this can be found here at the Caritas Website.

Each class has a Project Compassion Box in their room to collect loose change when possible. Next Tuesday, 26 March students are asked to wear casual clothes for their day at school, as well as bringing a donation to place in their class box.

Holy Week

Holy Week marks such an important time in our Catholic Calendar as we prepare for the resurrection of the Lord.

Students have been learning about the events of Palm Sunday, The Last Supper, The Garden of Gethsemane, The Stations of the Cross and much more. They have contextualised these stories and reflected on the themes they produce. This includes imagining what these events may have looked like to people who were present at the time.

Our Holy Week presentations have also marked a special way to celebrate these holy events as students have participated reverently and enthusiastically.

Wishing all our families a wonderful Holy Week and Easter, followed by a relaxing school holiday break.
