Let's Celebrate Together!

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different cultures and backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Harmony Week is all about celebrating the amazing cultures that make up our country. Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world – from the oldest continuous culture of First Nations peoples, to the 49% of Australians who were born overseas or have a parent who was.

At RHPS we celebrated Harmony Day on 21st March. Our students wore orange to school to show their support. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.

Our students participated in a range of fun and engaging activities, which promote cultural understanding and a sense of belonging. They watched videos, listened to music, created posters, banners and slogans and most of all celebrated the cultures which make up Australia today.

The Level 5/6 students will continue their learning next week, by participating in a Story Factory workshop that focuses on poetry, as well as Harmony Day. Let's hope our leaders enjoy this rich learning experience.

Thanks to all of the parents and families who supported our special day, it was much appreciated!
