We cannot believe that it is Week 6 already! It has been a whirlwind start to the year with a lot of delightful new students, new staff and staff embracing new roles. It’s exciting to hear the buzz of children humming around their class activities and building their learning community.

So far this term we have enjoyed pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, competing and enjoying the water at the Swimming Carnival, and danced and sang along at the Dan Warlow concert at Burnie campus. We’ve also had great success with the Year 3-6 students at the NWPSSA Athletics – with some of our relay runners being invited to the upcoming Twilight Athletics Meet.

Last Thursday, we also sent all our Year 6 Student Leaders from Ulverstone and Burnie campuses to Launceston for the GRIP Leadership Conference. Our students were celebrated and encouraged whilst they reflected on the responsibilities of leadership. We are so blessed to have our enthusiastic and caring Student Leaders in Year 6 and we look forward to these students being able to implement a lot of their ideas for 2024!

On Friday of last week, our Year 3/4 students enjoyed their School Sleepover! They spent time outside scootering and riding around before relaxing indoors and sharing food together. Our teachers and parent helpers went above and beyond to make it a joy-filled event for our students and even though not much sleep was had, it was an exciting time that will be remembered for years to come!

This term, we have also been running our Personal Interest Groups (PIGS) on Friday afternoons. We have groups doing craft, coding, and building Lego, dancing, playing chess and card games, learning ukulele, and playing volleyball, basketball and cricket! Friday afternoons are exciting and busy, and a fantastic way to end our weeks with high student engagement and awesome leadership from our Year 5/6 students.

As we now head towards the end of term, here are some important dates for your diaries:

13 – 25 March                    NAPLAN for Year 3s & 5s

We would love you to join us for the Easter Service and spread the word about Grandparents and Special Friends Day; both are going to be exciting opportunities to share the heart of our school and bless those in our community.
