ALUMNI News
2024 is Frankston High School’s second year partnering with OurSchool to build and mobilise a thriving alumni program; particularly in light of 2024 being Frankston High’s Centenary year.
OurSchool is a not-for-profit service, and the only service in Australia devoted solely to helping public high schools build supportive alumni communities. Why? Because alumni can be inspirational, relatable career role models for current students. To learn more about OurSchool, go to ourschool.net.au
Alumni can give back to their old school in so many ways that benefit current students; either via inspirational career pathway advice, industry insights, post-Year 12 study insights, study tips and techniques, work experience opportunities, donations to assist with school programs and more. The opportunities for involvement are endless.
This year, we welcomed OurSchool’s Rhiannon Slatter to the Frankston High School team. Rhiannon will be our Alumni Program Coordinator, taking on the role from Jenny Hammond, who built a strong foundation for the program in 2023, involving over 1300 students in alumni career pathway sessions. Rhiannon will be with us 2-days per week (term time).
A little background insight. Rhiannon has spent 20 years running a business as an architectural photographer, largely specialising in photographing education spaces for architects as well as all kinds of other projects from retail spaces and prisons to aged care, corporate offices and homes. Recently she has been working in communications and events roles for a photographic industry body as well as an association supporting regional architects. Rhiannon is now very much looking forward to supporting current students to be inspired by what Frankston High School’s graduates have achieved and welcoming back alumni to their school community as part of the many upcoming Centenary celebrations.
