Respect, Reslience, Responsibility, Integrity and Excellence

Evan MILLER

Principal

As we come to the end of another School Term, I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our entire school community to continue to grow and achieve outstanding results.

NAPLAN 2024

Over the last two weeks we have seen our Year 7, and 9 students participate in their NAPLAN testing. All of our students have approached their NAPLAN tests with great responsibility and the mindset to do their best. A big thank you to Tom Barton, Director of Data and Pedagogy, who is oversaw the NAPLAN testing. This is a big undertaking.

Twilight Tunes Concert

Our twilight tunes concert was performed on Thursday 21st March in our Junior School Courtyard. The weather was perfect, and it was fantastic to see so many members of our community attend the event to support our performing students. On the night we had over 140 students perform in various ensembles and performances were outstanding.

VCE Formal

Our VCE formal was held on Tuesday 26th March and was a wonderful event. All of our senior students who attending had a fantastic night and represented our College exceptionally. A big thank you to Mr Richard Shelly, Head of Senior School, and our School Captains who organised and ran the night.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher interviews were conducted online on Wednesday 27th March. We had a total of 2682 interviews booked for this semester which is an increase of 430 interviews from the same time last year. Thank you to all who attended and this is a great reflection of the level of engagement we have from our community in the ongoing learning of all our students.

The PRSE includes the following sections, and schools analyse and upload data and supporting evidence on performance, practices and processes for each of the following:

  • reflection on school performance against the last School Strategic Plan (SSP)
  • reflection on other significant findings including student learning or wellbeing outcomes not captured in the previous SSP
  • reflection on implementation of professional learning communities
  • self-assessment against the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO 2.0) continua of practice
  • self-assessment of compliance against the Curriculum and Student Learning Minimum Standard and department policy requirements.

Water Safety these school holidays

We know many families head away during the school holidays to locations near water, including lakes, rivers and beaches.

To help families stay safe around water please see the following water safety resources:

  • Surf Life Saving Australia’s Beachsafe website where you can view a location and the closest patrolled beaches (available in 132 languages – click on the ‘Select language’ tab). This information is also available in an app which you can download from the Beachsafe website. The app includes videos with tips for visiting Australian beaches, in 8 languages: English, Arabic, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Malay, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.
  • Vic Emergency’s Get to know our warning signs website, including posters translated into Arabic, Dari, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
  • Life Saving Victoria’s Water safety tips.

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing break over the school holidays and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on your return at the start of Term 2.
