Swimmers Shine at HICES Swimming Carnival

The Sydney Olympic Pool witnessed an exceptional display of talent as 24 of our swimmers represented the school at the HICES Swimming Carnival. Despite many experiencing the Olympic pool for the first time, our team showed remarkable enthusiasm and support for each other, resulting in numerous personal bests.

Notable achievements included both the Junior Boys relay team, composed of Lachlan Elder, Liam Hayward, Alec Stewart, and Louis Pantehis-Marriott, and the Senior Girls relay team, featuring Andie Zinga, Grace Lowther, Zara Campbell, and Elspeth Kerridge, securing spots at the upcoming CIS carnival. Standout individual performances were also observed, with Samuel Milliken, Joshua Westcott, and Emily McGreal earning well-deserved places at the CIS competition. Special congratulations are extended to Grace Lowther for clinching the title of the 12/13 year girls age champion, showcasing her talent and determination in the pool.

As the day concluded, our swimmers reflected on their accomplishments with pride. Their sportsmanship, teamwork, and commitment to excellence have brought honour to our school. Congratulations to all our swimmers for their outstanding achievements at the HICES Swimming Carnival. We look forward to cheering them on as they continue to excel in the pool and beyond.

NSW Water Polo Festival

A Kinross Wolaroi team consisting of five players from the Junior School (Andie Zinga, Grace Lowther, Hugh McDouall, Harry Doyle and Nick Strahorn) and five players from Year 7 represented our school at the U12's NSW Waterpolo three day Festival held at the Orange Aquatic Centre. The kids had a great time being coached by Doug, one of our GAP year students, and learnt many new skills. Competition was strong with teams competing from all over NSW. The Kinross Wolaroi team improved remarkably each game and most importantly all players had a great time learning and putting into practice new skills.

All of our families were very appreciative of the opportunity for Kinross Wolaroi to field a team at the tournament and for the support received from our senior school students who volunteered their time to man the match clock over the three days of the carnival (Kymarni Astill Year 11, Lucy McIsaac Year 11, Charlotte Doyle Year 9, Angus Ervin Year 12 and Will Evens (another wonderful Gap student) as well as the parents who volunteered as score keepers and helped out on the barbecue.
