Cultural Dance Opportunity
Our Indigenous students in Years 2 - 10 are being given the opportunity to learn Contemporary Aboriginal dance with Shae Duncan from Yulugi Marumali on a Tuesday afternoons every week for term one at 3.20pm - 4.20pm, starting Tuesday 20th of Feb. Students will be offered afternoon tea before commencing their lesson. Miyay Birray Youth Inc has offered to support our program by offering students a way home via their bus service. Parents need to let Jaimee know if they wish for their child/ren to be dropped home by this service otherwise parents will need to collect their children from school at 4.20pm, from the Gwydir Street gate (near the hall). Please contact our AEA team to express your child's interests.
Murri Yulu Gaay Dance Group
Our Murri Yulu Gaay Dance group have been invited by Mrs Karen Tighe to dance on country as special guests for the NSW Police Force whilst they hold an event at Myall Creek.
When: 21st of March 2024
Where: Myall Creek
Transport: Students will travel with AEA staff & Cathy Downes to Myall Creek via bus. A compass event will be sent to parents for students in the group.
CSNSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander State Education Conference
Selected students have been invited to take part in secondary & primary dance groups with Schools from Walgett, Wee Waa & Narrabri to perform for the conference. Students who have been selected would have received permission notes & will receive compass notifications
Dancers will have dance workshops:
Secondary & Primary - 1st March - Moree
Primary - 29th May - Walgett
Secondary - 7th June - Moree
It is important that students who are selected take part in our dance workshops.
CSNSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander State Education Rehearsals
Photos of students from Moree, Wee Waa, Walgett & Narrabri coming together for the first CSNSW Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander dance workshop in the lead up to the conference in October. Students met Elder Colleen Duke at the Dhiiyaan Centre for a welcoming & blessing before commencing their dance rehearsals.

Warraymaylaya 2024
Warraymaylaya retreat consent forms are soon to be given out to our students in grades 8 & 9 and 10. Please speak to your child about attending these retreats, they are an opportunity not to be missed.
