SEEDS

Welcome Back for Term Two!

We are excited for new opportunities this term in the SEED room, such as new play invitations, obstacle courses, yoga, games, fine motor activities and making connections with our school garden.

Using the children's feedback and suggestions from the first term, we are kindly seeking some donations from our school community. Items such as small baby clothes 00000 or 0000, doll high chair, bassinet and pram, hair mannequins, hair dressing table or play kitchen sink, hand held mirrors, wraps, clips, old hair straighteners and curlers that no longer work (please see pictures below).

Activities such as dramatic play have been essential in our program, as the play assists the students to process new and familiar situations, show interest in and make connections to life skills and develop strategies to engage and play co-operatively with others.

The addition of a hair dressing corner has been highly sort after by many of our students. It will be a wonderful social and regulation tool for the children as well as gaining some incredible fine motor strength and co-ordination.  This will also help the children in their endeavour to progress through the steps to tie their shoe laces independently and improve their legibility and stamina when writing.

We kindly ask that any questions and donations be received by the office and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. My working days are Monday, Thursday and Friday.

The children and I are so grateful for your ongoing support.

Mrs. Polson
