Education in Faith

Welcome back to Term 4! Hoping that you all had a wonderful, restful break, enjoying the sunshine that we were gifted with!

Term 4 Parish Mass

We welcome family and friends to join us for the celebration of Mass at 12.00pm in our SMCM Sacred Space, on Fridays.

Praying the Holy Rosary in October

On the 7th October, we celebrate the memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. The Rosary is such a special prayer form that we dedicate the whole month of October to praying it. According to Catholic Tradition, Mary appeared to St Dominic and gave him this collection of prayers to pray.

We are able to become closer to Mary and Jesus, by reflecting on key moments in their lives. These stories are organised into four sets of mysteries: Joyful Mysteries, Sorrowful Mysteries, Glorious Mysteries and Luminous Mysteries.

The Rosary can be a meditative prayer, as repeating the prayers can become calming like a chant. Beads are traditionally used to help us count the different prayers, including the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be.

This month, you might pray the Rosary as a family, beginning with the Our Father, then 10 Hail Mary’s, and finishing off with the Glory Be. You might like to make some rosary beads and use these pray-along videos to guide you and your family.
