Year 4 - Newsletter
Dear parents and caregivers,
Teachers had a productive day on Wednesday planning a fun and engaging curriculum for our final term of year 4. We look forward to sharing what is happening with you next term.
Our annual footy day was fantastic, it was great to see students enjoying themselves and getting into the ‘spirit’ of the day.
Congratulations to all the superstars who competed in the Division Athletics Carnival, we are very proud and grateful to you for representing our school.
What's happened in year 4 this week?
English: This week we have been filming, editing and putting the final touches to our news reports. We can’t wait to see the presentations next week.
Maths – This week in maths we have conducted repeated chance experiments to observe relationships between outcomes in games and other chance situations, and identify and describe the variation in results. Next week we will estimate and compare angles using angle names including acute, obtuse, straight angle, reflex and revolution, and recognise their relationship to a right angle.
Inquiry - This week students completed their nesting box design for their chosen animal. They built and decorated their box using cardboard and recycled materials. Students carefully measured the size of the box and entrances to make sure their animal can fit, they added ledges, climbing ladders and natural materials to make it a welcoming habitat. Students will be bringing their nesting boxes home for you to see next week.
Homework: Homework has now concluded for term 3. Well done to all our students who consistently complete their homework each week, we're very proud.
Things to Remember:
- Friday 20th September - Last day of term 3. Early finish (2.30pm).
Term 4 is a no hat, no play term. Please check with your child to ensure they have a school type broad brimmed hat to wear when outdoors. We also recommend applying sunscreen each morning. We will have sunscreen available in our classrooms.
