Students Spread Messages of Peace and Inspiration

In a heartfelt follow-up to the students Hiroshima & Nagasaki commemorative lesson last term, the Year 7 and 8 Japanese classes have taken a significant step towards promoting global peace and understanding. The students composed personal messages of peace, prayer, and hope, which will be sent along with a collection of beautifully crafted origami cranes to the respective war memorials and peace parks in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This initiative not only honours the memory of those affected by the tragic events it reinforces our commitment to fostering a culture of peace and empathy among our students.

In addition to this meaningful project, our students have also been inspired by the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the remarkable story of Saya Sakakibara, an Australian/Japanese BMX gold medalist, the students composed a message of congratulations to celebrate her achievements. This message will be sent on behalf of the school, highlighting our admiration for her dedication and success.

These activities reflect the values we strive to instill in our students — compassion, respect, and the drive to make a positive impact on the world. We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 and 8 students for their thoughtful contributions and their efforts to connect with global communities through these meaningful gestures.
