Years 2 & 3

Hi, I'm Mrs Mibus and it has been wonderful to join the Cavendish school community this term. I will be in the Year 2/3 room three days a week, sharing with Mrs Bell.

We have had a busy start to the term with lots of concert practice taking place. Students have also been busy organising costumes and helping make props. The students are very excited and looking forward to performing next Tuesday for you all.

We started the term off by reading the modern-day Fairy Tale 'The Paper Bag Princess' and have centered our literacy tasks around this fun loving book, that is a twist on traditional tales. We 'pulled the book apart', diving into many different aspects including looking at the author's purpose, making connections, character traits, cause & effect and retelling & sequencing. Students have now begun writing their own 'Fractured' Fairy Tale and have many amazing ideas. We can't wait to see how everyone's thoughts come to life on paper!
