Years F & 1

We started back the term with the students writing about their holidays. It was exciting to hear about and read all the wonderful things the students got up to over the holidays. It was great to have them back at school and it has been such a wonderful start to a busy term. 

In maths, we have been working hard on place, in particular spending time on being able to order numbers from smallest to largest or vice versa. This is a skill we will use as daily practice at the beginning of maths lessons to help build their confidence. 

In writing, we have been busy practising narratives ready for the Fleece and Flower Show. The students have come up with some wonderful ideas for characters and a problem they encounter. We will work on taking our plan and putting it altogether in a narrative. We spent time this week talking about exciting openers to try and hook in our readers.
