Notes from the Principal

Term 4

Welcome Mrs Mibus

We have welcomed Mrs Mibus to school this Term to teach our Year 2/3 class.  Mrs Mibus has come to us from Dunkeld Primary School. She has settled in well and has hit the ground running.  Mrs Mibus will be teaching Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays and our ever reliable Mrs Bell is teaching Wednesday and Fridays.

Ms Ferrier - Merino Consolidated School

We were informed yesterday that Ms Ferrier has been successful in her application as Principal at Merino Consolidated School.  We wish her all the best at her new school.  Ms Ferrier will be missed by everyone here at Cavendish PS and we thank her very much for the years of service to our school as Principal and Teacher.

Halls Gap Zoo excursion

Next Monday 21st October our Years F/2 students will enjoy a day out at the Halls Gap Zoo.  Students will be transported by Jon Herrmann.  Staff attending on the day will be Mrs Steele, Miss Gray and Chloe.  Please pack their normal lunch, snacks, hat and drink.  The excursion will take place during school hours, so students will be back by the end of the day for buses etc.  Luckily the weather forecast is looking like a warmish day.  For parents who are yet to consent on the school app please do so before Monday.

School Performance at Hall

Our students have been rehearsing well and it is coming together.  Students will perform two sessions on Tuesday 22nd October.  One will be at 12noon and the other session at 6pm.  Students will need to bring their costumes and be there at least 15 minutes prior to the show starting.  We thank parents for getting their children there and giving up their time on the night!

Parents Club news

This Saturday night the Parents Club have organised a movie night for students and siblings at the Cavendish Hall. The movie they will be watching will be Despicable Me 4. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this great event.  Please be there by 6:45 for a 7pm start.

Thank you to Parents Club who approved for school to buy some more readers books around the cost of $500.00.  These have been ordered and some have already arrived. These books will be a great addition to our class sets.
