Bet Camp

Monarto Safari Park

On the recent Bet camp at Monarto Safari Park, students got up close and personal with the rhinos, bison, antelope, cheetahs, lions, giraffes, ostriches, emus and their chicks, and many many more animals on a drive-through safari tour.  They attended zoo keeper talks, saw 'behind the scenes' where the keepers hang out and conduct autopsies, and learned about the park's conservation efforts.  They shovelled bison poo, pitched their own tents, went on night walks, and played all sorts of games without a screen to be seen.  The 360 lion experience was a highlight as they felt the growl and smelled the breath of nine hungry lions just a metre or two away.  What a great couple of days.
