Our learning from the last few weeks.

The Year 2 students and teachers have had a jam-packed term 3. Last week it was great to see most of our students out of the classroom and in a new environment showing off their skills in the swimming pool. The students enjoyed their lessons, however we think most students favourite part was the bus ride to the swimming pool each day!

Year 2 -Day Camp is coming!

Save the date: Monday the 16th of December 2024.

Here is a little bit of an insight about what the day is about.

Golden Valley's Adventure Camp is located on the Mornington Peninsula, in Flinders. About a 1 hour drive from Hillsmeade PS. Our Year 2 students will experience a day of Camp, without the overnight aspect.

Students will participate in a range of outdoor activities, providing challenges & working on teamwork strategies. These may include Flying Fox, Ropes Course, Team Challenges & Sports. Students leave feeling encouraged, empowered and ready to face challenges with a greater confidence and belief in who they are!

News and Reminders:

Hats: Hats are now compulsory until the end of the year.

Library books and borrowing: Each week or fortnight, we visit the library and encourage our students to borrow a book. At the moment, we have most students borrowing, which is great to see.

Home Reading: We encourage all students to bring their reader bag back each week to change over their books. Please make sure you are recording when your children are reading each night.
