NEW FACES (PART 1)
We would like to welcome some new staff!
Lara Saunders (Reception & Admin Support)
What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?
My new role is Reception, as part of the front office team. I am really excited to be working in a Christian environment with like minded people and am excited to be a part of a community centralised with faith.
What did you do previously?
Previously I was working as a school photographer, but have a wide range of experience in all things administration, customer experience and operations management.
What do you like to do for fun?
I thoroughly enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and being outside in nature or at the beach.
KIM BLAKE (Secondary Teacher)
What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?
I am mainly teaching Year 8 and Year 10 Humanities, part time. After 22 years teaching in the Public sector I am absolutely loving teaching in a Christian School and being able to be more open about my faith in the classroom. With 2 daughters at the school as well I am really excited to be a part of the school community and family here!
What did you do previously?
I was teaching classroom Music, Singing, and conducting school bands and choirs for the last 22 years in two different public schools in Mt. Eliza and Norwood. I have also taught wildcrafting and foraging classes, as well as herbal medicine classes to homeschool groups. I've also been a worship leader at our church for the last 15 years.
What do you like to do for fun?
We are a homesteading family (off-grid, grow our own food, etc), so most of the things for fun focus around that lifestyle: spending time with the family whilst we garden, cook, look after the animals, preserving produce, and so on. It's a very busy, but rewarding life! I always feel like I have my best conversations with God when I'm out in the garden!
ANDREA HARRIS (Primary Learning Assistant)
What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?
I am very excited and blessed to have joined the wonderful team of Learning Assistants in the Primary School area.
I love working with children and helping them to be the best they can be and am excited about working with an amazing group of educators.
What did you do previously?
I have previously worked in the Corporate World and for the past nearly 9 years have worked as an LA with children in the public sector.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to craft, using many different mediums and creating works, reading books and spending time with my family and friends.
