District Athletics
District Athletics
Last Tuesday 10th September the District Athletics was held at Bill Sewart Park Nunawading. The weather was great, the atmosphere electric and the competition fierce. The student’s efforts were fantastic even though we had some students absent, lots of students put their hand up to have a go in their spots.
Ten schools competed in our district.
These kinds of days are not possible without the help and support of MPS staff and parents, so I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Sheena Cronin, Jodie Taylor, Robyn Revell , Jordy Allen , Natalie Watson and Jane Barnes for all their support and help before the carnival and on the day. Thank you also, to the parents and grandparents, who came along to support their child and Marlborough P.S. Also all parents of the competitors for signing the consent and payment forms on compass before the carnival.
We had some excellent results from the day, coming 6th overall.
Our 11 year boys came 3rd overall and 12/13 boys age groups MPS came equal 2nd overall. Including Obi A who ran in 12/13 boys 1500 m to gain valuable points for MPS, without his point we would not have been equal second in that age group. Well done Obi.
Track: 5th overall
Field : 8th overall
Overall : 6th overall.

Everyone should be very proud of the way they performed , behaved and participated on the day.
We had many students get ribbons competing against 9 other schools is a big effort.
These eight students have made it to Divisional Athletics which is being held on Thursday October 10th at Bill Sewart Reserve.

Once again, the behaviour and sportsmanship of Marlborough students made me feel very privileged to be part of this great school and community. Check out the photos there are lots of smiles in them.
