The Patch Program

Term 4, Week 2

Wow, Term 4 has started with a bang in the garden! We planted a rainbow of tomatoes this week to match the rainbow over the Patch I got a photo of the other day. 6 different varieties, and we still have a few more to plant. We also planted 2 types of cucumber, lettuces, beetroot and sunflowers. That’s just the start of our summer planting, there will be lots more to come as we progress through the term.

We have also been letting some plants go to seed to encourage pollinators to the garden and so we can collect the seeds.

You might also have noticed the garden in front of the art room! We have been busy making that look nice for Mrs Dixon. Once all those plants are flowering, it will look beautiful.

In the kitchen, we have started the term off making carrot cupcakes, as we have lots of beautiful carrots in The Patch. Delicious! The grade 5’s did a fabulous job making them this week.
