What an incredible week we had at our Annual Women’s Health Forum held at Dandenong South Primary School on Thursday the 5th of September. We had over 140 women and 50 children attend and had an incredible day connecting, sharing and learning from others. The day began with a welcome from Dandenong local MP Gabrielle Williams and the Mayor of Greater Dandenong Council Lana Formoso. They both shared just how important it is for our communities to learn about women’s health and the importance of empowering our families. We had many partner organisations attend including,
Multi-Cultural Centre for Women’s Health, Jean Hailes, Monash Health, Ambulance Victoria, The Water Well Project, Kid Safe Victoria and The Australian Women’s Centre for Human Rights. There were four rotation activities which each hub participant completed. The activities included engaging with the partner organisations through an EXPO style setting, a healthy eating information session followed by a make your own smoothie on a bike facilitated by Chobani, a breast screening information session and a drumming for mindfulness wellbeing session. The day was followed by free coffee, a delicious hearty lunch, Zumba, and a special gift to end the day. Thank you to all that attended and we look forward to the next one!
