Whole School Swimming Program a Great Success
Our 2024 Whole School Swimming Program was once again a huge success and I would like to extend a great big heartfelt thank-you to both Mr Vincent Coad (for much of the day-to-day organisation and Ms Carly Jamar (for most of the behind the scenes work). Please know that we are aware that, due to the very low cost this year, some children unfortunately were unable to due numbers having to be capped. We are currently in negotiations with Dandenong Oasis regarding some other options for 2025; as our intention is to aim for 100% attendance.
And thank-you to a young man (Viphou) in the SLC on Springvale Campus who personally reminded me about something very important this week. He described our school as being very INCLUSIVE . . . . and to him that meant that no child ever misses out on anything (no matter their gender, their cultural background, their financial situtation). He said that the students here "Don't miss out on sport, excursions, special events" . . . .because all the teachers "do whatever it takes to make it happen." So next year we will do whatever it takes to make sure every child gets to swim! Thanks Viphou for that reminder.
Staffing Updates for Term 4
I would like to take this opportunity to farewell Mrs. Billie Karac (one of our Year 3/4 teacher on Springvale Campus) who will be finishing up her contract with us at the end of Term 3. I am sure you will join with me in thanking her for her dedication to our students and wishing her well for her future endeavours. Mrs. Karac will be replaced in the classroom by two of our highly experienced classroom teachers, Mrs. Emma Drysdale and Ms. Christie Hall who are both returning from family leave.
Foundation Enrolments Are Due NOW!
A reminder that the school is finalising enrolments for 2025 Foundation students. So, if you have a little person in your home (or living next door) who is due to start school next year, please ensure that you contact the school. Please know that it is very important that we have these enrolments confirmed as soon as possible as it does affect our workforce planning for next year and our preparations for our Term 4 Transition Program.
Have a great Spring holiday break. Hope you all get to enjoy some special time with your family and friends.
Stay Safe, Take Care, Keep Smiling!
