This Friday we will welcome prospective families to our campus for Open Day.
This is one of the most significant occasions in the Junior School calendar. It is an opportunity to open our classrooms and invite the community to experience the learning, character development, and sense of belonging that define Kinross Wolaroi School.
At the Junior School, we maintain high expectations for every student. Strong foundations in literacy and numeracy are supported by a personalised approach that meets each child at their point of need. Our teachers collaborate regularly to monitor growth, differentiate programs, and attend to student wellbeing because academic progress and wellbeing are best realised in partnership.
Visitors will also see the breadth of opportunities that enrich a Kinross Wolaroi School education. Specialist programs in Music, Sport, Religious Education, Languages, Library, Visual Arts and Digital Technology provide depth and variety to each child’s learning journey. We are proud to highlight our strengthened approach to Science, with Year 6 students working alongside Senior School teachers and accessing outstanding facilities to develop scientific thinking and communication.
Learning extends well beyond the classroom. Our co‑curricular program offers students meaningful avenues to explore interests and build character across sports, creative and performing arts, debating, chess, and service‑learning. These experiences foster curiosity, courage and collaboration, values at the heart of our community.
We recognise the busyness of family life and provide before and after school care, as well as holiday programs, to support our parents and carers. Our external provider, GOWIRE, provides a safe and engaging environment that provides continuity of care.
Open Day is an invitation to see who we are and what we value: a forward focused education grounded in tradition, a close‑knit community, and a commitment to ensuring no potential is lost. We look forward to welcoming you on Friday and sharing the distinctive Junior School experience at Kinross Wolaroi School.

Harmony Day, recognised each year on 21 March, is a national celebration of Australia’s rich cultural diversity and a reminder of the importance of inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for all. Since its beginning in 1999, Harmony Day has continued to grow, encouraging communities to reflect on how diversity strengthens and enriches our shared experiences. Wearing orange, a colour symbolising meaningful conversations and social harmony has become a familiar way to show support for these values.
This year, Harmony Day forms part of Harmony Week, guided by the enduring message, “Everyone belongs.” This theme highlights the belief that every individual contributes to the fabric of our community, and that embracing difference helps us build stronger, more connected environments where all can thrive.
In the Junior School, Harmony Day will be marked through SRC led activities that encourage students to reflect on inclusivity, respect, and belonging within our school community. It is a valuable opportunity for students to celebrate cultural diversity and strengthen their understanding of empathy and cultural awareness. As we recognise Harmony Day, we are reminded that our unity is strengthened by embracing and valuing our differences, ensuring every student feels seen, heard, and supported because everyone belongs.
At Kinross Wolaroi we value and strive for academic rigour. Students have a myriad of opportunities to engage in enriching learning experiences which in some instances the school provides or facilitates student access to them. Please share with us your child’s interest, passions, and achievements by emailing junioroffice@kws.nsw.edu.au
