2026 School Year Underway
The school year is off to a fantastic start, with students and staff embracing new opportunities, building connections, and setting high expectations for 2026.
Our Year 12 students have begun their final year with enthusiasm and focus. Those completing VCE enjoyed a valuable Year 12 VCE City Camp. The camp provided students with information regarding directions available to them in the future, including apprenticeships/traineeships, visit to universities and TAFE colleges, and promoted the social cohesiveness of the cohort. Meanwhile, our Year 12 VM students took part in a dedicated VM Orientation program, designed to develop teamwork, collaboration and connection with their peers. All year 12s have set a positive and purposeful tone for our senior cohort.
We were especially excited to welcome our newest secondary students during Year 7 Induction Week. Students met their teachers, explored the college, learned about our processes and procedures, and began forming new friendships. Last week, our Year 7s further strengthened those connections at Year 7 Camp, where outdoor challenges and shared experiences are already building resilience, teamwork, and school spirit.
Staff have also been actively engaged in Professional Learning focused on School-Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB). This work ensures we continue to build a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment with clear expectations and consistent support for every student.
In Week 4, we also ran a full school assembly, heavily led by our new College and Vice Captains, where we proudly introduced our Year 7 students, congratulated our Year 12 students for being in their final year of schooling and formally presented our 2026 Captains and student leaders. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate new beginnings, and reaffirm our shared commitment to a successful year ahead.
Importance of coming to class on time
Over the coming weeks, we will be having a particular school focus on ensuring students attend class on time, ready for their entry routine. We have noticed that some students across various year levels are not arriving to class on time. Given the impact on learning for both the individual who is late and on other students when they do arrive, this focus is important to maintain a calm and orderly environment focused on learning. As a parent/carer, you can track student attendance and lateness through Compass and I encourage you to have a discussion with your child about their attendance and lateness record to support the steps we will be taking as a school to promote being to class on time.
Open Night
Given the strong reputation and results the college has achieved over the past 12 months, we have had lots of interest in School Tours that have been a regular weekly event for us. We look forward to our Open Night on Tuesday 31st March at 5:30pm to further showcase the amazing school and opportunities we provide our students at the college. If you know of any families interested in what we have to offer at the college, please encourage them to follow our socials and to come along to our Open Night.
