This term has been a huge one for our students, filled with learning, growth, and exciting milestones. Our Grade 3 and 5 students successfully navigated the NAPLAN period, demonstrating resilience and determination. Meanwhile, our Year 3-6 students have been deeply engaged in knowledge-rich reading units, expanding their comprehension and analytical skills.
Our F-2 students continue to make wonderful progress through the Little Learners Love Literacy scope and sequence, developing strong foundational skills in reading and writing. It has been particularly exciting to see our Foundation students take home readers and begin writing words and even some sentences—a remarkable achievement in just a few months!
Our dedicated staff have also been focused on learning. Through weekly professional development, they have been deepening their understanding of how students learn best. This commitment ensures that we provide our students with the best possible opportunities to succeed.
We are incredibly proud of the growth our students have shown this term. Their hard work, curiosity, and determination continue to inspire us every day!
The school holidays are a great time for rest and fun, but they also offer opportunities to keep learning in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Here are some simple strategies to help students stay engaged:
✅ Read Every Day – Whether it’s a favourite book, a magazine, or a recipe, reading regularly helps build vocabulary and comprehension skills.
✅ Write for Fun – Encourage writing postcards, shopping lists, or even a holiday journal to keep up writing skills in a natural way.
✅ Explore the World Around You – A trip to the park, the beach, or even a backyard adventure can spark curiosity. Ask questions, make observations, and discuss what you see.
✅ Play Educational Games – Board games, puzzles, and online educational apps can reinforce problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
✅ Get Creative – Drawing, building with LEGO, or crafting encourages imagination and fine motor skills.
✅ Practice Everyday Math – Cooking, shopping, or measuring things around the house are great ways to apply math in real life.
Most importantly, we encourage students to enjoy their break, recharge, and come back ready for another fantastic term of learning!
