Maths
In Mathematics, we are concentrating on Number and Place Value. Students will use concrete objects to represent numbers from 6 to 10, helping them build a strong understanding of part-part-whole relationships for these numbers. Students will be developing a stronger understanding of the vocabulary ‘more than’ and ‘equal/same as’. We will focus on recognising and writing the numbers 6-10 and calculating 'one more than' for numbers to ten.
Inquiry
This week, students have engaged with the story The Great Big Book of Families and explored the concept of family. They discussed the diversity of family members and the various ways in which families can differ. Here is a link to the story, ‘The Great Big Book Of Families’.
Wellbeing
This term, we focused on the Zones of Regulation, which include the Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green Zones. Students developed their "Ready to Learn" Plans and scales, which they use to assess and identify their current readiness to learn. The topics covered in Wellbeing included emotional literacy and stress management. Additionally, we reviewed the 4 Rs and established classroom expectations.
