Principal's Report
Vermont Secondary College
Thank you so much for the continued community support of the college throughout term One in so many activities both within the classroom and in the broader co-curricular program. Thank you also to families supporting not only us, but other families in the VSC community. As always VSC has been an extremely busy place, and I thank the staff and students for their continued time, effort and enthusiasm.
I will be on leave in Week One of Term Two and then working at the Regional Office in Week Two and the early part of Week Three. Aidan Message (Assistant Principal) will be Acting Principal while I am absent.
Enjoy the break and we will see everybody back and ready to go for Term Two.
Congratulations to the Vermont Secondary College swimming team who represented the college at the Eastern Metropolitan Regional (EMR) final on Friday. It was an outstanding team effort and well done to Amy Malander (Sports Coordinator) for organising and supporting the team on the day. Thanks also to Tuana Unal for her support of the team throughout the day.
The State finals are being held on Thursday 1st May at MSAC and we have two students going through to compete on the day. We wish them all the best and a full report of their fantastic results at the EMR finals can be read in the VSC Sports section of this newsletter.
Can parents/guardians please not drive into the college grounds as we have 140+ plus staff driving in, many school busses, plus 1,650 students walking through the grounds. This applies to all parents/guardians including the parents of instrumental music students who drive up to the music centre in the morning and evenings to drop off and pick up their children.
Please drop all students off in surrounding designated streets/areas and do not enter the school grounds. Thank you for your understanding.
The VSC annual Community Reporting Meeting will be held on Tuesday 22nd April 2025 at 6.30pm. At this meeting the VSC 2024 Annual Report will be presented and once ratified by College Council and by the Department of Education (DE) it will be placed on our college website. Members of the college community are welcome to attend.

This year the VSC marching band will again be involved in the ANZAC Day march in the city, ably lead by Ben Muddyman.
If watching the ANZAC Day parade on Friday 25th of April up St. Kilda Road in the city to the Shrine of Remembrance, keep an eye out for the Vermont Secondary College marching band who will be marching and supporting our armed services and veterans. Our talented marching band will again be led by Ben Muddyman and the two School Captains, Areeba and Caitlin and supported on the sidelines by Aidan Message and many parents.
A huge thank you to Khristian Mizzi for all the administrative work and running around required to get this important event up and running for the college, plus attending on the day. Well done to all involved!
