Ski Camp

A reminder that in 2025, we will be providing students in Years 5 and 6 with the opportunity to attend Ski Camp.
The Ski Camp Program complements the APS Health, Sport and Education program by providing students with opportunities to expand their learning and social skills in an alternative outdoor environment. It promotes independence, resilience, self-esteem, leadership and cooperation and allows students to step outside their comfort zones.
The 2025 APS Ski Camp will run from Tuesday 29 July until Friday 1 August at Mt Buller Ski Resort. If oversubscribed, priority will be allocated on 1) seniority and 2) opportunity and will utilise a ballot system for selection.
With only 42 Year 6 students in 2025 there will be a significant increase in the number of students in Year 5 able to attend. As a result we encourage Year 5 students to complete the Expression of Interest Form. While there are limited places available for students on this camp it is imperative that we fill all 54 available spaces in order for the camp to be viable.
The APS Ski Camp relies on parent volunteers for it to be a success. We require on-mountain volunteers who are capable skiers and 1-2 volunteers who are the lodge parents and organise the food preparation and delivery. Parents who wish to attend must also complete an Expression of Interest section on the form. The process for parent selection is based on ensuring a mix of genders, experience, applicable skills, and succession planning.
There will be an information evening held in Week 1 of Term 2 on Thursday 1 May via WebEx. It is strongly recommended that all interested families attend this session.
Expression of interest forms will also be sent home in Week 2 of Term 2. These will need to be returned to the school office by Friday 9 May at 9.00am.
Kind Regards,
Shane Wilkie
