Easter Eucharist
The Easter Message shared by Chaplain Justine at our Easter Service on Tuesday centred around kindness, care, compassion and treating others as we would like to be treated. What a fitting message from the Easter story as we head into the school holidays. We will miss Chaplain Justine greatly as she takes up her new role, but her kindness, care and compassion will remain a positive role model for us all.
We wish Ms Gabby Slattery all the best as she commences her parental leave. We cannot wait for the new arrival! Mrs Samantha Bryce departs with great plans in place and whilst we will miss her infectious laugh, care and support, we wish her all the very best for this next chapter. We welcome Miss Emily Beake into the Primary Reception/Student Services role and I know everyone will make her most welcome.
As the term has drawn to a close, the 2 and 3-way Conferences have been a great way for parents, teachers and students to connect and discuss their learning; strengths and areas for growth so that students can make the most of their efforts as the year progresses. Our thanks to the teaching staff for their work to prepare for these and to families for making the time to attend and participate.
Our Year 6 students enjoyed one of their first PYP Exhibition ‘engage’ activities last week with a visit from the Cultural Infusion presenter, Amy Lei, who entertained and educated us on several traditional Chinese dances. The students and staff learnt that things were more difficult than they looked!
There is so much to look forward to next term, but in Week 1, JWACS will host a visiting school group from Hong Kong. Thirty students and seven staff from SKH Wing Chun School will be visiting and completing a one-day immersion with our Years 6 and 7 students. I have been so impressed with the willingness of our students to be buddies, and I know they will do a great job!
I would like to wish everyone a safe, happy and holy Easter. I look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed, relaxed and ready to make the most of Term 2.
Take care.
