Parents & Friends - Mother's Day Stall

A huge thank you to our wonderful Year 1 Liaisons Christelle and Erin, and other helpers for organising and running the Mother's Day stall. The students were spoilt for choice as they perused the tables of goodies.

Annual OSHC Survey

Each year, we are required to ask for feedback from families about the Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service provided on Campus. Families currently using OSHC should receive an invitation to respond via the OSHC Director, Carmel. If your family used OSHC during the past 12 months, please take the time to complete this survey. Your feedback will be collated centrally by the Department for Education to provide feedback to Campus.

Your feedback will help Campus Leaders discuss quality improvements at the OSHC service which may better meet the needs of children, families and the community.

Please complete the survey by no later than 31st May 2025

SACSA Athletics Carnival Recap – A Fantastic Day of Competition!

On Friday 2nd May, a team of our talented student athletes proudly represented our school at the SACSA Athletics Carnival, held at the SA Athletics Stadium. With clear skies and perfect weather conditions, the stage was set for a fantastic day of competition.

SACSA (South Australian Christian Schools Association) Sports provides students from Christian schools across South Australia the opportunity to compete in a wide range of interschool sporting events, promoting excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Our students competed with determination, enthusiasm, and integrity, showcasing both outstanding athletic ability and a great sense of sportsmanship throughout the day. Whether they were sprinting down the track, launching a shot put, or cheering on their teammates, every student contributed to a strong team effort.

We’re proud to share that we finished 3rd overall, with only 15 points separating us from 1st place - an incredibly close result that reflects just how competitive the field was this year.

Adding to our success, we once again took home the Challenge Shield - for the 4th year in a row!  This shield is awarded to the school that demonstrates exceptional consistency and strength across all age groups and events, based on a points system. Winning it four times consecutively is a testament to the depth and dedication of our athletics program.

With each carnival, we’re getting closer and closer to the coveted Overall Championship Shield; and with the momentum and talent shown this year, that goal is well within reach.

Congratulations to all our athletes and staff for a fantastic day. We are proud of your efforts and the way you represented our school!

Sapsasa Cross Country

What a fantastic day it was on Tuesday, at Belair National Park for the SAPSASA Southern Heights Cross Country District Carnival! With clear skies and perfect running conditions, our students embraced the challenge of a tough and competitive course.

The atmosphere was electric as runners from across the district gave it their all, and we're incredibly proud of how our students represented the Campus. They showed outstanding determination, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the day.

Congratulations to all competitors and a special mention to Koah who placed first in the 12 year old 3km race.

Premier's be active Challenge

Pilgrim School will be participating in the Premier’s be active Challenge in 2025. The Premier’s be active Challenge is a physical activity program introduced by the Premier in 2007 to:

  • encourage students to be more active more often
  • improve the health and wellbeing of South Australian students.

Guidelines to complete the Premier’s be active Challenge:

  1. Every student must have their activity recorded in the student recording booklet. These will be distributed by the school once a permission form has been returned.
  2. Complete at least 60 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week for at least 4 weeks between Week 1, Term 1 and Week 10 Term 3 and record it.
  3. Students must have their record verified by a parent, caregiver or teacher.
  4. Pass on the completed Student Record to the Front Office by Monday 30th June.
  5. Receive an award in late November.

Research has shown that parental support makes a difference to how active children are. One of the biggest factors in helping children to be active is providing support to participate in physical activity. Whether that is getting them to sports, taking them to the playground, riding your bike with them or simply encouraging them outside to play, these are all things that will help your child to be active.

The Premier’s be active Challenge is most successful when parents show interest and support their children. Help your child get 60 minutes of physical activity per day and you will be making a positive difference to their future. It’s also a great way to be more active yourself!

If you would like your child/children to participate in the Premier’s be active Challenge, please return the reply slip to receive a recording booklet.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.

Kind regards,

Campus Instrumental Night

This year’s Campus Instrumental Music Night is on Wednesday 31st May (Week 5) in our Performing Arts Centre. This free event celebrates the talents of our Campus Instrumental Program students and staff and gives our students an opportunity to perform to a supportive audience regardless of their level of expertise – beginners, intermediate and advanced players are all welcome!

Families of our Instrumental students (whether performing or not) are encouraged to attend this relaxed, informal evening to support their child and to gain an insight into the wonderful instrumental program we offer on Campus. Families of children who will be performing have already received emails with the information and registration link for their child for the evening via their Instrumental Teacher - please contact your child’s Instrumental teacher if you have any questions!

Student performers are asked to arrive at 6.15pm, with the performance starting at 6.30pm. Please save a seat for your child, who will sit with you when they are not performing.

We look forward to a wonderful evening of music!

Campus has Talent - Advance Notice

Campus Has Talent will be held on Wednesday 13th August this year (Term 3, Week 4). Students have been asked to start practising hard, as auditions are in Week 8 this term! Students wishing to try out for performance spots will do this in their normal music lessons with me.

Students need to come to their auditions with everything they will need to perform on the night – this might include costumes, backing tracks, instrument, etc. They are encouraged to learn their act off by heart to have the best chance to be selected.

Any students wanting to try out with students from other classes can organise to come to one of their music lessons together, with their class teacher’s permission. Alternatively these students will need to video their audition and bring it in Week 8 to their music lesson on a USB or email it to me prior.

Drum students wanting to audition will also need to video their audition and bring it in Week 8 to their music lesson on a USB or email it to me prior, as we do not have a drum kit available during classes.
