Wellbeing at the Heart of Term 2
Welcome back to Term 2! We’re excited to continue building a positive and connected school community, with wellbeing as a key focus this term. One of the highlights is the launch of Friendology - a friendship skills program designed to help students understand healthy relationships, navigate tricky social situations, and build confidence in standing up for themselves and others. This program provides a common language for students and teachers to talk about friendships, and helps lay the foundation for respectful, inclusive school culture. You can read more about this program below.
We are also looking forward to Wellbeing Day on Friday 23rd May, with a fun and engaging Indonesian theme. Students can come dressed in white and red (colours of the Indonesian flag). The day will be packed with hands-on activities that explore Indonesian culture while promoting mindfulness, connection, and community spirit. These events are a great way to celebrate wellbeing in action across the whole school.
Looking ahead, our Fathering Project Dad and Kids Night is happening on Friday 13th June. It will be a relaxed evening of pizza and board games - an opportunity for dads and father figures to connect with their children and other families. Please go to the Compass App Upcoming Events tab to book.

The Fathering Project: Why Fathers are Important in the School
Not only have fathers been shown to have a significant impact on academic achievement, but children’s attitude toward learning and school is also very strongly influenced by their father. So, if you model and encourage a love of learning you will be setting your child up for success throughout their lives.

Friendology
Friendology is a friendship skills program developed by URSTRONG. It helps students build strong, healthy friendships and gives them the tools to manage social situations confidently and kindly.
What is Friendology?
Friendology gives students a shared language to talk about friendships and teaches them how to:
- Build and maintain positive friendships
- Handle conflict respectfully
- Recognize healthy vs. unhealthy friendships
- Stand up for themselves and others
How You Can Get Involved?
URSTRONG offers free parent access to a range of online tools that mirror what students are learning at school. By using the same language at home, you can help reinforce these important lessons.
We’ve created two short videos to guide you through signing up for these resources.
Please click the following button to access the Friendology website and create your free account.
Why It Matters
When schools and families work together to support social-emotional learning, kids thrive. Your involvement will help your child feel supported, confident, and connected - in the classroom and beyond.
Thank you for your ongoing support. If you have any questions about Friendology or how to get involved, please don’t hesitate to contact the Pilgrim Wellbeing team.
