Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Happy End of Term!

As we finish up for the term, I would like to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to everyone who has given their support over the term, by volunteering with our skiing programs or attending school events and other activities.  As always, we really appreciate your involvement!  A big thank you also to our incredible team of staff for all their efforts over the last term.  After another busy term, I am sure, like many of our students, they are looking forward to some well-earned rest and an opportunity to recharge!

As everyone gets excited for the upcoming break, families are reminded that tomorrow, we will have a casual dress day (with the exception of school hats, which must still be worn)! This is not a fundraising event, so no gold coin is required. Please also note that, the school day will finish at the earlier time of 2.30pm.

A big thank you and congratulations to Conrad and the Spookie Ukies on their very entertaining performance at last week's assembly.  It was great to see the group performing a sample of their songs for our last assembly of the term.

Tomorrow night, the Spookie Ukies will be performing again,  at our West Peak Raffle Night.

We hope that you can join us from 5:30pm to celebrate the last day of term and support both our raffle and the Spookie Ukies first busking session! Please let us know if you are able to assist with selling tickets on the night.  Funds raised from this night will go towards updating the junior years codable readers.

This week has seen some strong competition on the netball court, with four teams competing for tomorrow's lunchtime netball grand final.  A big thank you to Kathryn and the Year 4s for their organisation of this event, and good luck to those teams who have qualified to play in the final!

Many thanks also to Chili, Roxie, Goldie, Gen, Aislynn and Jarrah for their efforts in helping to promote the importance of keeping our environment clean.  In addition to working together to create a poster to put around the school, some of the girls have also been working together to pick up rubbish during their recess and lunch breaks.  Thank you girls for taking pride in our school and helping to look after our environment!

All the best to Zelk, Tully and Rowan as they kick off in tomorrow's U14 Grand Final.  We hope you have a great game!

For those of you who haven't yet seen it, this week's Alpine Observer featured a lovely reflection from Neige, on her time in our school.  It was great to read how much Neige has enjoyed being part of our school and community again.  Hopefully the next visit won't be too far off!

Reminders:

On Saturday the 4th November (Melbourne Cup Long Weekend), our school will celebrate its 75th Birthday!
