With an abundance of beautiful produce from our garden, preparing and sharing has never been so much fun or tasted so good!
This term we have been harvesting our very own beautiful broccoli, cauliflower, silverbeet, pak choi, lemons, oranges, lettuce (many different varieties), carrots, pumpkins, wombok and cabbages!
Over the past few weeks, we have been making fresh pasta and hand cutting it to form silky smooth ribbons of Tagliatelle. We have been serving it with a vibrant veggie sauce using an array of seasonal vegetables or a broccoli, chilli, and lemon sauce.
We have finished the term by firing up our wood fired pizza oven to make potato, rosemary and rocket pizzas and served them with a drizzle of mixed herb pesto and a salad of the imagination. It’s never tiring to see the "Wonderment and Awe" on the students faces at the sight of a perfectly rested and risen dough. Pizza is always a crowd pleaser and a delicious, fun way to end a full term of Kitchen/Garden.
As the term ends, we say farewell to our Year 3 students and welcome Year 4 back to Kitchen/Garden in term 4.
On behalf of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden team, I wish our students and families a wonderful school holiday break.
