Year 7

Assistant Principal's Report

What a great start to the term we have had. I wish we could say that about the weather, but hopefully there will be a few warmer days to enjoy as we progress throughout the term.

This term the year 7‘s, will complete exams, then into Step Up for two weeks in their new year 8 classes. I’m sure you will all agree that you didn’t think we would be talking about year 8 so soon!

Again, it has been great to see students consolidate their friendships and the positive celebrations at assembly each Monday morning. There are so many students displaying the College values of Respect, Co-operation and Excellence, having 100% attendance and working with their teachers to become the best they can be.

A reminder about the importance of students wearing the full school uniform. With some cooler days occurring, students are expected to still be wearing the College uniform. For students who need assistance with the correct uniform, please ask your child to speak to their tutor teacher or a member of student services.

I look forward to continuing to work with your children this year to further enhance their educational opportunities and help them reach their full potential.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7

We hope you had a fantastic break and are ready for an incredible Term 4 as we start to wrap up this school year. The Year 7 students have had a busy term already! Very talented students from Year 7 were able to showcase their amazing talents to the Wyndham Central College community in our Annual Art and Technology Showcase. Congratulations to all our students who received awards. Our Year 7 footballers have tried out for our Football Development Program, and they are excitedly awaiting to find out how they went. It is also great to see the many students taking advantage of the numerous lunchtime clubs every breaktime and Homework Club on Wednesday afternoon.

The Year 7 students took part in a Wellbeing and Team Building Challenge Day on Friday the 20th of October.  Students were challenged to look after their wellbeing, form new friendships and go outside of their comfort zones. Students participated in numerous workshops such as Ninja Warrior, Laser Tag, Minor Games, Yoga and Mindfulness, The Amazing Race, Computer Quizzes, Cooking Classes and a Photo Challenge around the School. The Year 7's embraced these challenges and showed our staff and guests to college how amazing they can be.

There are some exciting events and opportunities awaiting the Year 7's in the coming weeks, and we are getting ready to dive in. We have scootering and skateboarding workshops coming up – the students will learn how to do some tricks and ride the scooters and skateboards safety. In December the Year 7's will also participate in a Colour Run.

A huge congratulations to our 'Students of the Week' winners for Term 4 so far. These students have gone above and beyond in displaying our school values:

  • Olivia Frankas 7A
  • Zephaniah Taufa 7D
  • Alkira Clark-Brown 7K
  • Amanda Say 7J

Finally, let's make this term truly memorable and finish Year 7 on a high note!
