Performing Arts

The PAC Generalist and Specialist group were lucky enough to attend a dance workshop at the prestigious Joanne O’Kelly School of Dance in Langwarrin on Wednesday 25th October.

The students were made to feel welcome, relaxed and confident by the amazing professional Broadway choreographers Jason Tidsdale and Cassie Martin.

We were taught 3 different types of dance styles which were commercial jazz, lyrical and musical theatre.

The Commercial Jazz  and Lyrical dance workshop was taken by choreographer Jason Tidsdale. The Commercial Jazz was fast past and with sassy body movements the group found it fun and enjoyable. Our skills were really pushed, and everyone gave 100% effort.

In the Lyrical dance  we were taught how to use our emotions and expressions through body movement and facial expressions. This class was in-depth and emotional.

The Musical theatre workshop was taken by the talented choreographer Cassie Martin who featured in the incredible Broadway show Wicked.

Our group was fortunate enough to learn the audition from the Wicked musical, we taught a fascinating dance style which was entertaining and captivating.

Overall, the PAC students had an amazing time and were left inspired and confident with the new skills that had been taught.  This was a once in a lifetime experience which everyone was grateful for.
