The Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) faculty has enjoyed a vibrant and busy term, showcasing our students' artistic talent, enthusiasm and dedication across Music, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts.
Battle of the Bands 2026 – KHS Takes Centre Stage!
This year, Kellyville High School is proud to announce that we have entered two bands in the annual 'Battle of the Bands' competition at Castle Hill High School. On the night, the Castle Hill High School hall will come alive with the sound of guitars, drums and vocals as bands from Castle Hill, Kellyville, Crestwood, Muirfield, Northmead CAPA and Rouse Hill go head-to-head in an electrifying showcase of live music and friendly rivalry.
The winning band will take home a $1500 P.A. system and a shiny trophy for their school.

Musical Production in Progress
Preparations are well underway for our school musical production, ‘High School Musical’ Over 50 students are involved, embracing roles both on stage and behind the scenes. Students are working collaboratively in areas such as set design, costume, choreography, dance, choir and drama. The commitment and teamwork from all involved is remarkable, with rehearsals happening Thursdays after school, and students helping to coordinate props, lighting and sound. The musical promises to be a highlight of the year and we look forward to welcoming our community to enjoy this showcase of talent.
Music Excellence: ‘In Concert’ Series
Our music students recently participated in the prestigious ‘In Concert’ series hosted by NSW Public Schools. This annual event celebrates musical excellence, bringing together a massed choir comprised of secondary students from across the state. Our students sang alongside professional-level ensembles, including the NSW Public Schools Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra and Singers. Participation in this series offers invaluable experience in large-scale performance, music collaboration, and exposure to new repertoire.
HSC Visual Arts Body of Work
Visual Arts students undertaking their HSC are now deep into developing their Body of Work. This process involves conceptualising and refining creative projects across a range of artistic mediums—painting, collage, digital works, sculpture and more. Students are focusing on building technically sophisticated and intellectually rich pieces, guided by their teachers and feedback sessions. The Body of Work is a significant component of the HSC, allowing students to express their individual artistic vision and explore themes such as identity, environment and social issues. We are excited to see the diversity and quality of the projects emerging this year.
