Media Team Red Carpet Premiere

Our Media Team lit up the Regent Theatre in Richmond on Friday 29 May with a spectacular red‑carpet movie premiere that showcased creativity, talent and months of dedicated work. Students arrived in style to an atmosphere that felt every bit like a professional film launch.

The films screened on the night received glowing reviews from families, staff and community members, who praised the storytelling, technical skill and bold ideas brought to life on the big screen. It was a proud moment for every student involved — from directors and editors to sound, lighting and the behind‑the‑scenes crew — all of whom contributed to an unforgettable evening.

The event highlighted not only the artistic strength of our Media Team but also the teamwork and passion that drive it. Congratulations to the entire Media Team for a premiere worthy of the red carpet.

Celebrating Bayleigh's Achievement

Kellyville High School is proud to congratulate Bayleigh W. (Year 11) on successfully completing the Critical Thinking unit through Macquarie University as part of the Walanga Muru program.

Throughout the course, Bayleigh demonstrated exceptional analytical skills, thoughtful evaluation of different perspectives and the ability to apply logical reasoning to both academic tasks and real‑world situations. Her dedication, maturity and strong engagement in the program have helped her develop valuable skills that will support her future studies and personal growth.

As a result of her successful completion, Bayleigh now holds an offer to study at Macquarie University — an outstanding achievement and a testament to her hard work.

World Cup Fever

Students and staff gathered in the school hall to watch the World Cup match between Australia and Paraguay. The big screen gave everyone a clear view of the action, and the hall was filled with excitement as the game unfolded.

It was a nice chance for the school community to come together, take a breakand enjoy the match. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the screening a relaxed and enjoyable event.

Year 10 Step into the Drivers Seat

Year 10 students took part in an engaging excursion to RYDA, a workshop focused on preparing young people for safe and responsible road use. Through real‑world scenarios and interactive activities, students were encouraged to think carefully about road safety long before becoming drivers.

They moved through sessions led by road‑safety experts, exploring hazard perception, stopping distances, peer influence and the importance of making safe choices as both drivers and passengers. A braking‑distance demonstration was a standout moment, showing how speed and conditions affect a vehicle’s ability to stop.

The day prompted students to reflect on their attitudes and behaviours, equipping them with valuable knowledge as they work toward their learner licences.

MyStrengths at KHS: Year 9 Students Build Confidence and Resilience

This year, Year 9 students participated in the MyStrengths wellbeing program, a strengths‑based initiative designed to help teenagers understand and develop their personal strengths. Through workshops, assessments, coaching and group activities, students learned to recognise what they do well and how those strengths can support their resilience, confidence and relationships.

The program offered a positive approach during a time when many young people face self‑doubt and uncertainty, encouraging them to focus on their strengths rather than their challenges. KHS has partnered with MyStrengths for several years, and this year’s sessions once again provided Year 9 students with practical tools to support their wellbeing and future goals.

Multicultural Day

Our school community came together this week for a vibrant and joyful Multicultural Day celebration. Students proudly showcased their cultural performances, demonstrating creativity, confidence and a deep appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that enrich our school.

Both performances were warmly attended by families and carers, who enjoyed seeing students share music, dance and storytelling from cultures around the world. The atmosphere was lively, colourful and full of pride.

Students embraced the day by wearing Mufti or traditional cultural dress, and the sausage sizzle at lunch added to the festive spirit. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this special event. It was a fantastic celebration of unity, diversity and community.
