Athletics Carnival
Last week’s Athletics Carnival was a great reminder of our community spirit, student enthusiasm, and friendly house rivalry. From the moment events began, it was clear that our school community had come together to create a memorable day for everyone involved.
Our secondary students set the tone early with their creative and colourful costumes, adding fun, personality, and plenty of laughter to the sidelines. Their energy lifted the atmosphere and encouraged younger students to give their very best. Families also played a huge role, with parents and carers turning out in impressive numbers to cheer, support, and celebrate every achievement. We loved seeing all the families and having our full school community come together.
Primary students shone throughout the day with high participation across all events. Whether sprinting down the track, long jump, or giving their all in throwing events, their determination and sportsmanship were on full display. The field events in particular showcased some truly impressive performances, with students showing great support for those competing in Finals.
The relays—always a highlight—brought the carnival to an exciting finish, with teams showing teamwork, speed, and incredible effort right to the final baton change.
In the lead‑up to the carnival, students have also been participating in a range of events during PE and Sport sessions, ensuring everyone had the chance to be involved. This additional program has seen fantastic engagement and has helped build confidence and skills across all year levels.
Due to the level of participation across our track events, the remaining handful of events are currently being completed on our Holy Trinity track. These final events will allow us to finalise our age champions and students progressing through to the ACS Meet in term 3.
The Athletics Carnival was a nice reminder of what makes our school community so special: enthusiasm, teamwork, and a willingness to get involved.
Infants Cross Country
Last Friday’s Infants Cross Country proved that not even freezing weather can dampen the spirit of our youngest runners. Despite the icy conditions, our incredible students showed determination, resilience and plenty of smiles as they made their way around the track. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it was wonderful to see each child giving their very best from start to finish.
The event was made even more special by the strong community support that surrounded the course. Families rugged up against the cold to cheer, clap and encourage every runner, creating a great event.
A big thank‑you goes to our Year 6 leaders, who stepped up beautifully throughout the morning. Their guidance, encouragement and willingness to help ensured the event ran smoothly and showcased the leadership qualities we are so proud to see in our senior students.
The Infants Cross Country was a fantastic celebration of effort, teamwork and school spirit, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.
