Focus Weeks
In Term 2 as part of its on-going emphasis on School Wide Positive Behaviours, Gisborne Secondary College will be continuing its work on Focus Weeks supported by mini lessons in the Mentor space to support students understanding of systems, processes, expectations, and the school values.
Below you will find an outline of each focus week to both give you some perspective on the work we are doing and to support conversations you may be having at home.
Week 6 - 20th – 24th May 2024
Merits – At the midpoint in the term we are running a whole school focus on celebration, especially the College’s merit system. We will also be looking at appropriate use of the school computer network and effective use of devices in the classroom, specifically when it is appropriate for students to access their devices.
Week 7 - 27th – 31st May 2024
Respect – In week 7 students will enhance their understanding of how to greet others around the College and to learn about appropriate social registers regarding greeting or addressing others in different situations.

Week 9 - 10th – 14th June 2024
