Reminder - Bingo Helpers Needed
Last year, St Mary's Bingo contributed more than $20,000 to the school which has benefited us in many ways including purchasing land (Hall St properties) and resources for the school. The most recent donation was put towards the installation of new playground equipment. Unfortunately the volunteer roster is very low at the moment and they require help. If you can spare some time on a few Saturday nights a year, please consider assisting.
If you are interested please contact Maree Williams 0438 084 364 or by email mwills@smmooroopna.catholic.edu.au
School Happenings
New - Anzac Day March
Lest we forget.
Some of our St Mary's students marched at the local Anzac Day Ceremony this year> Once again this was a wonderful display of respect for our fallen and what this means to our country. Well done everyone.
New - Preps Play
Our Preps enjoy sandpit play and learning.
New - 5/6 Learning Walk
Our 5/6 students were lead on a walk through Mooroopna by Michael Chisholm from Catholic Education Sandhurst. The purpose of the walk was to take notice of any Indigenous connections in the town such as artwork, street names, photos etc..
We discovered that apart from a couple of murals and the Indigenous memorial at the cenotaph, there isn’t a lot of other evidence of Indigenous history in our town.
This connects to our inquiry topic as we are learning about the impact of colonisation on Australia and the land.
New - Interschool Cross Country
We had a large number of students participate in the recent Interschool Cross Country with several students making through to the next stage. Congratulations to everyone on their efforts.
Belle and Summer had a very successful day at Interschool Cross Country!
New - Preps Learning Walk
Our Preps went for a creation walk last week. Where they explored all the wonderful creations around the school that God made for us.
New - Preps Stories Through Time Learning
As part of our stories through time our Preps are learning about Snow White. Today we explored apples. Made apple boats, apple slinkies, explored how apples grow and made our very own magic mirrors.
New - Mothers Day Mass
New - Founders Day
