Welcome to Chess Club at St Andrew’s Primary School!
Northern Star Chess has been invited to conduct the Chess Program at St Andrew’s in 2024.
We are delighted and looking forward to bringing attentive expert chess tuition, focusing both on performance improvement and on the development of thinking skills while maintaining excitement for students in their chess learning.
Engaging children in the 16 habits of mind through chess is central to our methodology. NSC is a community minded organisation, proudly providing superior quality programs at affordable levels for over 15 years all over Victoria. Our impressive team of coaches include expertise with young beginners all the way to strong FIDE Masters.
About the chess program:
◦ Students from Grade 1 to Grade 6, of all levels of chess experience, are invited to participate in the chess program
◦ Classes run during lunchtime on Thursday in the B Building
◦ During each session, students will participate in a chess lesson delivered by an experienced chess coach, followed by game play. An end of term presentation takes place in the final session of the term, with awards of acknowledgements.
◦ Please note that while the cost each term is set based on number of scheduled sessions for the term, it is a term fee. There is no make-up classes for occasional classes missed.
◦ New students joining the program after the start of term are offered a pro-rata discount for initial sessions missed.

Cost: The term fee for this term is $96.00, based on 8 sessions. (incl. GST)
