ANZAC Day Prayer

Remember, O Lord, all those the brave and the true, who have died the death of honour and are departed in the hope of the resurrection to eternal life. In that place of light from which sorrow and mourning are far banished, give them rest, O Lord, thou lover of men. And grant to us who remain the spirit of service which may make us worthy of their sacrifice, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear families,

We have a short week this week, with Thursday being ANZAC day and Friday being a school closure as a Staff Time In Lieu (TIL) Day. With the updated Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) that was put into place last year, staff are entitled to TIL when they work outside of normal hours. Catholic Education has supported schools by suggesting days that this may occur, and the 26th of April is one of these.

Mother’s Day and Special Friends Event

We invite all mums, grandmother’s and/or Aunties (or other special friends!) to join us for a Mother’s Day event on May 10th from 8:45-11am. Please see the details as shared on Operoo and RSVP if you can attend. There will be a Dance session as well as an Art and Craft activity, completed in family groups.

Parent Helpers

Thank you to all the parents who attended the Parent Helper training session last Friday. We welcome parents to volunteer to support the learning in classrooms after completing this training. If you have missed out but would like to be a helper, please contact Emma Strom                                                                                           at estrom@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au

Parking Reminder and start of the day

Just a reminder that the Kiss and Drop zone on Bunney Road is not a place to park and walk students to classrooms. Quite often the council checks cars in this area and fines those who are parked. This is a place for students to be dropped off and independently walk to the classroom.

School gates and doors are open from 8:30am and students can be dropped off from 8:15am. We have noticed students arriving for the day very early and there is no supervision available. If you need to drop students at school earlier, please enrol them in the Before School Program.

Working Bee

We look forward to welcoming families to our Term 2 Working Bee on Saturday 25th May from 8.30am - 10.30am  An Operoo form will be sent out next week to register your attendance.

Parents are requested to sign in at the desk outside the school office on arrival and to sign out when you depart.  Families who attend one Working Bee per year,  will have the $75 maintenance fee credited from their statement.

A job list providing outlines of the various tasks to be covered on the morning will be available.

We encourage parents with wheelbarrows, shovels, brooms, rakes etc to bring them along for the morning.

We hope to see you there!

The 2024 School Calendar is available on the School Website. It can be found mid-way down on the front page under the heading ‘WHAT’S ON’.   We will endeavour, where possible, to remain true to the dates on the 2024 calendar. We would recommend that parents make a regular visit to the school website to see updates on all school events.
