Principal's Report

It has been another busy couple of weeks here at ACPS with one of the highlights being the School Cross Country last Friday. Congratulations to all our students for their outstanding performance at the School Cross Country event last Friday! Cross country running is a demanding challenge, and for many this was their first time running 2km and 3km. It was great to see so many of you push yourselves to the limit of your personal best and give your all in the race. Whether you finished in first place or simply gave it a go, we were really proud of your effort. A big thank you to Natarsha Kenny for her leadership in organising the event, as well as to all our parent helpers and supportive parents who came out to cheer and encourage our students. Well done to those who qualified for the district level next week. We wish you all the best and know you will represent yourself and the school with pride.

Many of you will not have had the chance to see our exciting new learning space known as The Collaboratory. This space is an extension of the STEAM classroom in the portables down behind the Art Room. We have refurbished it with new paint, carpet and furniture that is designed to enable collaboration and project based learning. The vision for this space is that it can be used by all classes when they are engaging in collaborative learning, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary activities. We also use it for our Junior School Council meetings and workshops. A big thank you to Brad Byrnes who has kindly donated some great classroom furniture items for us to use in this space. The Collaboratory is quickly becoming one of the most popular learning spaces at ACPS.

Welcome Chantelle

In addition to whole school proactive wellbeing programs, Chantelle is also available to provide 1:1 support or small group programs. If at any stage you feel your child would benefit from seeing Chantelle, please speak to your classroom teacher who can initiate this for you. Welcome Chantelle!

Parent Teacher Interviews

Semester One Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday 14th May between 2 - 7pm. We will be offering a hybrid model this year that enables you to attend your meeting face to face at school or virtually via Webex. These interviews will run for 10 minutes and provide a valuable opportunity to discuss learning growth, learning habits and social/ emotional development specific you your child.

To enable interviews to take place we will be running an alternative program for students attending school on this day. There will not be any normal timetabled classes but students will instead participate in a range of activities/sessions facilitated by our Specialist Teachers. This will involve students working in mixed year level groups across the day and will run from 9- 3:30pm like a normal school day.

Please note that Division Cross County will also be on this day between 12:30 - 2:30pm. Families wanting to attend Division Cross Country to watch their child compete will want to book a Parent Teacher Interview from 3:30pm onwards. We will ensure you are notified of your child's progress through to Division Cross Country following our school Cross Country next Friday so you can them make your interview booking to suit.

The Compass booking system will open shortly for you to book a time that suits.
