Foundation Learning Community

Our Foundation students transitioned into this term, wonderfully! We are now picking up the pace with our literacy learning and have nearly finished learning the first 16 sounds. Could you please support us in this learning by listening to your child practise their sounds and heart words? Another way you could support your child with their learning is making both real words and nonsense words with their keyring letters. If you are unsure of this please come and ask your child's teacher. We are finding that once the children have consolidated the skill of chopping and sliding with nonsense words - they are then able to read a reader and bring them home to share with you. Home practise does make the world of difference with your child being able to progress with their literacy learning.

Thank you for sending in the baby photos of your child. The children absolutely loved playing 'Baby Guess Who' as a part of our History unit.

The children (and teachers!) were very excited to learn that we will be going to see Pevan and Sarah live in concert in November. More information about this excursion will be sent at a later date.

As we are now in Term 2, we are encouraging the independence of the children especially around their morning jobs. The children all know to look at the TV's to help them remember which jobs they need to complete. It would be greatly appreciated if you could also please encourage your child to complete their jobs themselves, no matter if they are coming to school before or after the bell.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
