VOCABULARY

Infer: to make an educated guess, using text clues and prior knowledge. 

Theme: The message that is present throughout the text. Often represents important topics such as love, friendship, grief, war.

Have your child read a narrative text type and infer the theme of the text.

Ensure that your child is recording down evidence to support their inference. 

They can use the following sentence stem to support their inference:
