Volleyball Victoria

On Wednesday the 8th, a group of dedicated Year 9 to Year 12 students went to MSAC in Melbourne to compete in their first Volleyball Victoria competition against other students in the Western part of Victoria.  The students were all enthusiastic and would train hard every Monday after school.  They secured an impressive 5th place out of 10 different teams and demonstrated excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.

Senior Girls Football

Our Senior Girls Football team had a great day out on the 9th May.  The girls did really well, winning both games in the first round, then met Western Heights in the semi finals, who were a very strong team.  Great team spirit was show by all of our students.  Well done girls!

Year 9 & 10 Girls Football

Our Year 9 and 10 Girls footy team participated in the school footy competition at Winter Reserve, Geelong.  We competed against Western Heights Geelong, Oberon High School and Belmont Secondary College.  We were successful in beating Oberon, by a high amount.  The girls worked well together as a team, showing our school values of Strive, Unite, Respect and Flourish. Even though some of the team didn’t have prior football experience, they pushed through and claimed a win in the end. Overall, the girls had a great experience and learnt new skills with their teammates and made new friends.

Year 7 Boys Football

On Thursday the 23rd of May, the year 7 boys footy team competed in the Geelong Region Competition. The boys started the day against Belmont High, winning 42:2, with Tex C kicking 2 goals and Ayden M, Jimmy B, Lucas M and Archer B kicking 1 goal each.  The second game against Western Heights was a tough game losing 41:7 with Jimmy B the lone goal scorer.  In the Semi Final against Geelong High, Beau W, Harrison L and Lucas M kicked 2 goals each, and Jimmy B, Joe B and Archer B kicked 1 goal a piece. The boys ended up winning 58:25. This meant we made it to the Grand Final against Western Heights again, unfortunately the boys lost 57:0 against a very well skilled and drilled team. A special mention to Rupert Z (our captain), Ayden M, David G, Lucas M and Huon B who all played solidly across the day.
