Mother’s Day
Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers for last Sunday. I do hope that you were appropriately cherished and appreciated.
Enrolment Timeline
Next year we will cap our enrolments to 150 students in Year 7. With the enrolment application period closing on 24 May, we have received close to 150 applicants already. I urge parents that if you have a child in Year 6 that you wish to enrol at St Joseph’s next year, to please get your applications in before the cut-off date. I will not be able to hold a place for siblings. After 24 May I will be processing the applications that we have received and sending out acceptance/waiting list letters based on the Diocese priority list (see below). You can now enroll online via the Catholic School Maitland-Newcastle website: https://www.mn.catholic.edu.au/enrolment/enrolling-in-a-catholic-school-online/
Building Update:
This week we started construction in two locations within the school. The construction company, Collaborative, is building two new classrooms in the far righthand corner of the school, on the block of land we purchased from Aberdeen Public School and an extension and joining of the admin/staffroom buildings. This will mean some inconvenience within the school until November when the builds are scheduled to be completed. We are also experiencing some congestion in the carpark, and suggest that if you are dropping off or picking up your child/children, please do so from Segenhoe Street rather than in the carpark if possible.
Below is a copy of the architectural plans for the two new buildings. The first two images are the new classrooms, the second two images are depicting the building which will connect our staffroom and admin building - a little difficult to identify. This building will give us access to more meeting spaces as well as extend the staffroom, which with increased enrolments, has caused the need to expand.
We look forward to working in these new spaces before the end of the year.
