Wonderful 1/2
0ne-two-rful 1/2s
Term 2, Week 5, 2024
What have we been up to?
Another busy two weeks have flown by.
Our classes have settled back into their normal routine after the busy swimming program.
As we head into our cooler months, we are starting to have lots of extra clothing come in to our classrooms. Could all clothing, drink bottles and lunch boxes please be labeled? This just helps us to return items if they are accidentally misplaced. Thank you for your help.
During PE this week we had a Tae Kwon Do instructor come to talk self
discipline and martial art skills and reinforcing looking after each other. The students really enjoyed this.
Just a reminder that we have our ‘Wild Action’ animals incursion happening on June 6th. Could all consent forms please be returned as soon as possible? Thank you very much.
The 1s and 2s had fun lining up according to their height.
Objects that the 1s and 2s found on the oval and placed in order from shortest to tallest.
What is coming up?
Reading
For Reading this term, students will continue to practice their ‘Paired Fluency Reading’, independent reading practice and have lots of opportunity to borrow and read books of interest from the Library. We also encourage reading other books of interest found at home or from the local library.
Writing
For writing, students will be learning about and beginning to write informational texts based on what they learn this term. Students have also been expanding sentences using who, what, when, where and why.
Maths
For Maths we are continuing working on Addition and Subtraction in and this will continue through until the end of week 5. We have also been talking about patterns and the students created some fantastic patterns using different shapes. In 12A we were learning about tall and short objects. We had fun finding tall and short objects on the oval. We also lined up in our classroom according to height. We discussed how we are all different in height and that we all grow at different rates.
Science
Students have started to learn about animals and their habitats.
