Teenage Issues - Excursion to Road to Zero

On Thursday 24th August, the Year 10 Teenage Issues class went into the city to visit the TAC’s Road To Zero, road safety campaign. This exhibition is a permanent part of the Melbourne Museum and seeing as though our class’s current topic is regarding road safety, it was only fitting that we visited.

The exhibition consisted of two parts, in the first, my classmates and I were initially greeted by a lovely road safety expert who informed us of some background information concerning the purpose of the exhibition and also explained the goal of attempting to have zero road crashes resulting in injury or death. Then we proceeded into a section where we were able to take part in many varied interactive activities informing us of various statistics or safety features in place to protect those around us, some of these experiences included: interactive quizzes, simulations and even Virtual Reality.

In the second part of the exhibition we were separated into groups and got to make our very own road safety advertisement using an interactive table and a selection of video clips, music and statistics, we also created our very own slogans! Overall, this was an amazing and informative experience that I’m sure others will agree was worth it!
